St. Martin's has a variety of After School Enrichment Activities for Middle School Students.
Yearbook Club-Headed by Sue Maloney, art and technology teacher, the yearbook club is comprised of Seventh and Eighth Graders who meet weekly to compile a year of memories into one publication. St. Martin's yearbook is full color and includes all levels, Nursery through Eighth Grade. A copy of the yearbook is given to each student free of charge. Individual messages known as "love notes," as well as commercial ads, are sold in January or February and help defray the cost of the yearbook to the school. Though pictures are taken throughout the year primarily by Tiffany Matthews, St. Martin's welcomes photos taken by other parents to be included. To submit photos for consideration or to purchase an ad in the upcoming yearbook, please email info@stmartinsdayschool.org.
Drama Club- The Drama Club is open to all Middle School Students (Grades 5-8) and no audtions are needed. Performances are held in November and are open to all Day School Families and members of the community.
Interscholastic Sports- St. Martin's participates in competitive sports during Fall, Winter and Spring. Teams are open to All Middle School Students (Grades 5-8). Some teams are single sex (Basketball, Field Hockey, and Lacrosse) while others are co-ed (Soccer). We play other area independent schools. The St. Martin's sports program strives to promote good sportsmanship and team playing. All students who wish to play will have a place on a team. For more information regarding our Athletic Program, please see Athletic Program or contact Betz Wild- Athletic Director.
Newspaper Club- Fifth, sixth, seventh and eighth graders publish a school newspaper with articles ranging from book reviews to becoming a green school and everything in between. Students have enjoyed writing on subjects and issues of interest and hope to grow and expand over the coming year. New student contributors are always welcome.
Science Club- Science Club is an opportunity for students to have some lab experiences that we do not have time to do within the normal curriculum. In additions students design and carry out a science fair project with the advice and guidance of an experienced scientist. We are planning our own Science Fair for club members to be held in late March with all club members participating.
After School Homework Help- St. Martin's faculty and staff are available should your child need homework help outside of school hours. Please arrange a time in advance that your child can meet with someone able to assist him or her with assignments.
